As an easy way to keep our travel journal, we've decided to start a blog. We changed our life in 2001. We quit our jobs in the Madison Wisc area, sold our home, and became full time RVers. Our Newmar Dutch Star motor home was our only home for 2 years. We traveled the country, met incredible people and enjoyed the beauty of this country.
Then we began missing a yard, "stationary" home and neighbors who didn't move all the time. Wisconsin climate is a little to cold (most of the year) for us at this stage of life. After much deliberation, we settled in Las Cruces New Mexico and have lived here since summer of 2003.
Our travels have continued -- including two longer visits to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly time spent on Maui. We lived on Maui for 7 months and both had jobs (Oct 1 2006 - May 1 2007). What fun that was! From Oct 2008 - July 2009, we again lived on Maui (and O'ahu) but didn't seek employment. We had both turned 62 and younger people needed the work more than we did. How fortunate we've been.
Earlier this year (Jan 2010), we spent 3 weeks in Mexico in the Yucatan. This summer, as in every year, we spent a month visiting family and friends in the Midwest. Now off to Europe. Given our ages, we want to live life as fully as we can -- for as long as we can. See you "on the road" beginning Sept 14.
